Lacy J. Dalton Lacy J. Dalton - Mustang Moon

There’s a big mustang moon
On the comstock tonight
It’s light is so yellow and pale
That ol’ red stallion's calls
Echo thru the canyon walls
The peace remains
The world don’t change on pinion trail

I rode the open range out through these mountains
Before the city slickers fenced the land
And they built those great big box’s they all live in
And a way of live i’ll never understand

There’s a big mustang moon
On the comstock tonight
It’s light is so yellow and pale
That ol’ red stallions calls
Echo thru the canyon walls
The peace remains
The world don’t change on pinion trail

Thank god there’s still some places men can’t build on
High up in this desert we call home
And there’s still some rangy mustangs who’ve survived there
It’s my dream to keep’em free to roam

If someday you should ride
Out through these highlands
My daddy taught me something
You should know
He said " son, you treat this land
Just like a lady"
"and if you gonna take her, take her slow"

There’s a big mustang moon
On the comstock tonight
It’s light is so yellow and pale
That ol’ red stallions calls
Echo thru the canyon walls
The peace remains
The world don’t change on pinion trail
The peace remains
The world don’t change on pinion trail
